Our Artists

Many of our original moulds date back to the 1900s and survived two world wars and the bombing of the Müller-Volkstedt factory in East Germany, before being brought to Ireland when we moved here in the 1960s. Since that time we have worked with many artists to create unique and original works of art through the medium of porcelain.

Danny Osborne

Born: Dorset, England
Studied: Bournemouth & Poole College of Art (1966-70)
Moved to West Cork, Ireland shortly thereafter.

Danny has exhibited worldwide since 1972 and is perhaps best known for his sculpture of Oscar Wilde which can be seen in Merrion Square, Dublin. This sculpture has been listed by the Irish Times newspaper as being one of the must see sites in Ireland to visit.

In 1979, while living on the Beara Peninsula in West Cork, Danny designed a series of Irish Atlantic seabirds for Irish Dresden. These pieces have become highly sought after and were the subject of a documentary made by David Shaw-Smith entitled “Birds in Porcelain”. In the documentary you see how Danny got inspiration for his creations and also the close collaboration with our team in Irish Dresden.

Danny also spent some time in the Artic Circle with his wife and two young children. This resulted in the beautiful porcelain figurines of his children Orla and Oisin.
